Please let me know the above question answer as soon as possible as my on friend has attacked by TB.
Answer:
First you should know tuberculosis is a perfectly curable disease, if your friend will take all the pills the doctor will gave him. The treatment is long (6-18 months), the pills are many and with a lot of side effects, but if he interrupts the treatment the disease will be back and next time it will be very difficult to treat it, maybe impossible.
The cause of TB is Mycoplasma Tuberculosis a bacteria also called Koch's bacillus. It is spread by aerosol droplets from diseased persons. So you MUST test yourself and all your friend's friends because you can also have TB.
TB is affecting almost any organ, usually the lung but also the lymph nodes, the small bowel, the bones, the genital organs, the skin, the brain, the spleen, the kidneys.
The gravity of this disease is given by the fact many persons do not get or take the treatment. Under treatment everybody is cured. But if you don't take it all, as the doctor is ordering, you can get a severe, untreatable form of TB
The chance of your catching TB is slim. You need close personal contact. So you need to spend about 8 hours a week with the person who has TB. Most cases of TB are not contagious.
Stop panicking! If the hospital thinks you are at risk you will be called in for screening.

How speech is developed among hearing impaired persons?
Answer:
They place their hands on the throat of somebody that speaks clearly, feel the vibration, and then feel their own neck and try to emulate the vibration. It's a long difficult process.
Speech therapy -- reading lips, listening for certain sounds, phonetics. Young people have a better chance in developing speech skills in early childhood than adults because adults haven't been adapted to sounds and/or vibrations. Why is this in the diabetes section?
How soon can I visit my Ex with cancer after surgery? What should I expect? What do I need to know?
He's having the tumor, in his digestive tract, removed today, and I would like to visit him in the hospital as soon as possible. I was thinking about bringing him some foil balloons. Any suggetions?
Answer:
Awwwww *huggles to you and him*My best guess is to go by what the nursing staff or his surgeon says. I had to wait about 3 days when my aunt had breast ca surgery before I could visit and even then she was still pretty groggy. Balloons are an excellent idea...something colorful to cheer him up. But yes, even if he isn't up to talking much, keep the conversation light and upbeat. He needs to know his friends are there for him. Since you're still on good terms, I might even suggest *assuming he's the type to appreciate it without freaking out* a small fuzzy get well stuffed animal *maybe a goofy gorilla*Best wishes to him.I'll say a prayer for him :)EDIT: OMG! I'm so so so sorry to here about his liver! He's on a donor list right?! If you need to vent or just talk, you know my email, friend :). Still praying for him
make sure he is allowed visitors, maybe in a couple of days, he will look totally grey or yellow from head to toe and have tubes going in and comming out of everywhere, he might be so doped up he cant stay awake. so dont stay long and dont stress him.
Look he needs to know that you are there for him. Do not freak out he is still the guy you knew, just probly scared and affaid that every one is going to run from him.
And what I think he would really like is if you go in and talk with him about some thing that makes him happy.
Alot of healing has to do with how you look at things if you see it in a good way, then he might too.
This time last year I had an operation to try and remove my tumour behind my heart (I'm ok now chemo has shrunk it). I think you defintely should leave it at least 3days. I wouldn't have appreciated foill ballons, hes not just had a baby! Just take in a card and tell him you hope hes ok and that youve been thinking of him, don't stay too long and don't talk about yourself for too long. I'm sorry if that's a little blunt but I am certain thats the best way.
Did you discuss visiting him in the hospital beforehand, and what did he say? Normally, if still on good terms, when to visit him in the hospital would have been mentioned sometime prior. Does he have another love relationship in his life? If so, respect and consideration should first be given to that relationship before an ex visits without prior ok. If there's any stress between a new love or his family and you, then sending flowers with a card is more appropriate.Call him first to ask him when or if he might be up to a 3 minute visit. (If he can't take a phone call, he's certainly not up to even the shortest visit.) Don't just show up there, especially since it sounds like visiting him wasn't discussed in advance. :)
Call and check with the hospital visiting policies are different at each one. My son had a kidney, tumor and other material removed in 2005. Only family was allowed to visit while he was in PICU (2 days). After that anyone could visit.
Give him two or three days to rest after major surgery. My 19 year old son has had three major cancer surgeries and recovered rapidly from all three with no complications. As for what to bring him . . cards or a nicely framed photograph would be nice. We always bring pictures and put them around the room. It's a good focal point for him.If your ex is fairly young and relatively healthy he may be out of the hospital sooner than you think.
You can visit whenever you want, but right after surgery he will be groggy. The next day might be best, non-latex balloons, cards, pictures or if he has a specific thing he collects or likes.

Everyone keeps telling me not to cry, it will make others feel worse, but I cant help it. This woman has been my life for as long as I can remember. ( Yes I am the baby of 5). How should i feel/ act. How can I accept it? How can I help Gram? If anyone knows any of the answers I would be thankful.
Answer:
This question made me feel really sad as my gran died in september 2001 and like you I was extremely close to her.I spent most of my childhood with her, and we were pals as well as relations. If u need to cry u must cry.Suppressing strong emotions is not good for u and u should grieve naturally.Of course you'll cry,its someone u love.I think its great you're cooking for her and with her every day. That alone will be fantastic for her.Grandparents love to feel that they mean something to 'young people'. Remember they are as young as you and I just in older bodies..In my grans final days and hours, though she was asleep I was there and they know..you're doing the right things, so take comfort in that. How should u feel? Sad of course, its human. If u didnt there'd be something wrong. How do u accept it? It takes time ,there's no short cut.Take solace in that she lived a good age and had people who loved her around her.
And it would be awful to see her alive if she was suffering, she must move on to the next world.. as is humanity. Her spirit will always be ith you, as my gran is with me today.Love..
You just need to let her know how much you love her. I know it's really hard but you need to realize that everybody is gonna die some sooner than later. I would advice you to just try to be with her as much as you can. I know it's hard but you will get through it! Good Luck!
i have been there it is ok to cry if you don't and hold everything in it will eat at you, and for how you should act i cannot tell you that, but it you just sit there with her hold her hand and just reassure her that everything will be ok if she goes and that she dose not need to worry about anybody but herself
Be yourself and if you need to cry its perfectly normal.
Tell your grandma how much you love her and how much you will miss her when she is gone. Pour your heart out and show her how much she means to you and how sad you will be when she is gone.
Its important to cry and tell those people in our lives how much they mean to us. If you dont do it now, you will not be able to later because she will be gone and it will be too late.
Hug your grandma and give her a kiss. Feel her warm hand because you will never be able to do these things after she is gone.
I just lost my dad and part of me went with him because nobody loves me like my dad did. I keep thinking about ways I could have said goodbye.
Answers, no. Support, yes. I have to say that crying is a very normal feeling at this time. When my wife was in the same condition and a few weeks from dying, I made sure that she knew how much I loved her. I told her that I thought it was unfair that it was her. We talked about many things. You will miss her very much, it is to be expected. Time will help. It has been four years since my father passed away and I still think that it would be wonderful to talk with him again. Get his advise. I think it less and less as the years pass. Our eldest son died in a drowning accident five years ago. I can't express the grief of lossing a child, but time makes wounds that can be endured. Although our son is gone, he left us with a wonderful daughter-in-law and a fabulous granddaughter. You can help your grandmother by being her friend and loving granddaughter. Just what it sounds like you have been all along. The best of luck to you, and your family.
Crying is the best healing there is besides laughter . Don't let any one tell you not to show your feelings, feelings are natural that's why we have them. Let your gram know that your there for her and you love her and tell who ever tells you not to cry that they need to get there feelings out too, they won't be so grumpy. and if you don't want to tell them that, go to the bathroom and have a good cry and come back in after you feel better. It took me 40yrs to cry because others didn't want me too and that did more damage to me then it did for the one i needed to cry over.It also shows that you have affection for that person. If you didn't cry in front of them they would think you had no feelings for them.
Please Cry if that is what you feel. Please feel free to allow ANY feelings you have to come forth and please do not feel bad about experiencing them or showing them. Please do not let others direct your own greiving. If you need or want to cry, I hope you do. Just as Death is a natural part of life, ...so is greiving and crying. If you deny yourself what your inner essence needs to do even if it is impromptu laughter, or anger, or crying, or moaning...do not stuff it. It can manifest later in your own life into a condition. Your Gram is a part of whom you are. After all, if she didn't exist,...you wouldn't exist. And, part of whom you are is actually her. Your bond is deep, and asking "How should I act"? ...the Answer is simple. Don't act. Just be natural. You do not have to satisfy anyone but yourself, and if crying is your expression of loss and love,.and the loss of love, you have every right and need to totally feel your human experience. We live in a society that is intolerant of others,....always trying to control others' natural behaviors and feelings. I pray you do not allow this to rule you in this most critical time and impending event in yours and your Grandmother's life,...and passing. As God gave you your Grandmother,...and as God gave your Grandmother life, and she in turn is responsible for giving many others life,..in his perfect love, he also gave us all and as well as you "Tammer".the ability and need to cry. Even "Jesus wept". I wish you my best, and hope God will embrace you and your family and your "Gram" during this time. I hope you find comfort and the many memories you have will sustain you with happiness after you get over this loss. Your Gram will always be alive inside you and in spirit and will always only be but a thought away. Just realize the transition may not be easy, but, I am a true believer that God will help you and bring you comfort.
Be you. . Let your heart tell you. Whatever you do, its' OK.
No one can tell you how you should act. Everyone goes through the grieving process differently. I know that this is a difficult time for you, I lost my dad when I was young. The only advice that I can give you is to let you Gram no how much you love her. And remember that even though the physical body leaves us, she will always be with you. It is difficult at first, but you learn to live with the grief. Please let me know if there is anything that I can do for you. I will be praying for you and your family.
Tell the other People to BITE YOU!!you need to greive what ever the way it's coming out!!my mommy died %26 that was my whole family no bro,so sister,i still have trouble excepting that she's dead with out going crazy with tears.tell gram everything you ever wanted to say!No matter what these are your last moments with Her,don't let ANYONE ELSE TELL YOU HOW TO FEEL! when she's gone there's no way to get it back .Unless she(gram) tells you not to cry, that's your grammie lying there do whatever you don't want to regret not doing right now.worry about everyone elses CRAP later, cause you can fight with them they'll still be alive!!

How serious is shingles vs.chicken pox if you are twenty four years old?
My little sister in-law has chicken pox, and I have cancer and Lupus. An now I have rash around my stomache and a couple of days ago I had to go the hospital because I had SEVERE stomache ache. How serious is shingles? and how serious is chicken pox? and what is the difference between getting them when you get older as to getting them when you get them when you younger
Answer:
Shingles is a secondary stage of chicken pox. You don't get shingles from somebody else, you would get chicken pox if you haven't had it before, regardless of your age.
If you had chicken pox earlier, you may now have a case of shigles but has nothing to do with your sister in-law.
In your csae, you're immunocompromised. Therefore you should go to your infectious diseases specialist or even your primary care immediately so if it is actually shingles, you could get valtrex at appropriate doses. If the lesions are disseminated, you may need intravenous, so don't automedicate. Also teh rash could be due to the lupus, depending on the type of cancer, that could do it too, and last but not least medications.
I hope it helps.
You should go to the doctor. Shingles are serious especially if you're already sick. They can do damage to organs. If the rash starts wrapping around your torso-go to the hospital.
Singles or herp zooster are same %26 not much serious but chicken pox is.
hello
how serious is death??
how serious is hiv?
or aids..
they all come from the same source.
shingles alone can be treated,,,,but its a link to other diseases...stds,clap,gonreh.,h... etc
bola.
best
Although it is the same virus, in children it becomes chicken pox and in adults is becomes shingles.
Neither one is usually serious, but there can be serious cases in adults for both.
There is no cure, since it is a Herpes type virus.
Shingles is extremely painful, with the pain preceding the typical rash by a few days.
Other than the pain and rash, there are no other effects.
The rash goes away without leaving any scars or marks.
The biggest problem with shingles is it can re-occur, like any Herpes infection (fever blisters are Herpes, too)
In your case, you have a weakened immune system from your other illnesses. That gives you more risk for contracting shingles, not being able to resist infection, and having worse outbreaks. You are also at risk for the chronic form of the disease, which unfortunately is chronic pain.
You need to have medical care right away to help avoid this part of the disease, which can be prevented to some extent.
Don't wait.
Go to the doctor if you had chicken pox as a kid, then you could have shingles now...if you didn't have chicken pox or the vaccine as a kid, then you would have chicken pox before shingles I would think...With cancer and lupus, you could be immune suppressed and it could affect you worse than other people, but you may just have a lupus rash..
I know that shingles is very, very uncomfortable, to say the least. I know that if an HIV infected person gets shingles or chicken pox, it can be lethal. I do not know how dangerous it is for one with Lupus. I do know that when you immune system is way down, chicken pox AND/or shingles are very severe!
Chickenpox are deadly if you get them when you are older I got them at 19 and my god was it painful. They can cause you to go blind etc.I dont know alot about shingles My father gets them from time to time but he gets great meds for them.I dont think the rash on your belly is chicken pox it may be something else but in your case I think they will be both pretty daangerous.

How serious is MRSA?
I have a pilonidal cyst and will be having surgery on it soon. Unfortunately i now have MRSA and was curious how serious it can get. I had the cyst cut open relatively a month ago and it has almost closed up completely (we are trying to keep the opening open) but now i have two infections very close to my opening (which is still being packed) and also i have one on my right side. I don't know a whole lot about this infection or how serious it can be so a little help would be great.
Answer:
I am a nursing student.
MRSA, or Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureas, (commonly called "staph"), is a bacterial infection that is very serious. How serious? It can kill you.
Bacterial infections are normally treated with antibiotics which kill the germs(microbes) that cause the infection.
Some microbes can change their genetic structures and this makes them more difficult to kill. They can survive in the presence of antibiotics. MRSA is one of these.
Staph bacteria are normally found in the body in your nose and on your skin. When these bacteria enter other places in the body, they can cause serious wound infections and pneumonia. MRSA is resistant to methicillin, a common type of penicillin. Typically, this infection takes months to treat, and multiple antibiotics are often used due to MRSA's aggressive nature.
